With the support of Barclays Bank, Communisis and Candid Arts Trust, Liberté d´Expression launched in 2006 a contemporary art competition in order to give painters across the UK exposure for their art, irrespective of their age, experience or artistic background. More than 500 artworks were submitted for consideration of which 70 paintings were selected for an eight days exhibition organised in Barclays Bank Global Headquarter in Canary Wharf and Candid Arts Trust in Islington. The exhibitions received over 500 visitors (including staff and clients) and sold nearly 1/3 of all paintings on offer.
All paintings sold through the competition saw 50% of the sale price go to the artist and 50% went to the NSPCC. In total £10,471.50 was raised for the NSPCC.
